Empowering Hygiene Independence
At Clean + Comfort, our mission is simple: to help visual learners of all ages build independence, confidence, and lifelong skills through Adaptive Hygiene™—making daily hygiene routines more accessible, predictable, and successful.
My Story
When I created my first social story on how to shower, I knew I needed more than written steps to help Loukas accomplish his goal. I had just mastered potty training after years of trial and error, homemade visual supports, and adaptive tools, and I was going to have to get creative again.
What followed was a deep dive into the world of shower products, visual schedules, and sensory supports. Many products were expensive, looked overly clinical, or simply didn’t solve the challenges our family faced.
I wanted more for my son. I wanted tools that were practical, visually appealing, and designed to build real independence.
So I decided to create them myself.
Over time, I began to see a pattern. Success wasn’t coming from a single product—it came from combining visual supports, sensory-friendly tools, and structured routines in ways that matched how my son learned. That approach became the foundation of Adaptive Hygiene™.
Years later, that journey became Clean + Comfort—the first Adaptive Hygiene™ company dedicated to helping individuals build hygiene skills with greater confidence, independence, and success.
Our Mission
At Clean + Comfort, we believe in fostering independence and creating opportunity. Our mission is to bring hygiene independence to children, teens, and young adults through Adaptive Hygiene™—an approach that combines visual supports, sensory-friendly tools, and structured routines to make daily hygiene more accessible and successful.
We believe that mastering hygiene skills not only expands opportunities for the future, but also helps parents, caregivers, educators, and support professionals navigate some of the most challenging daily routines.
To bring our mission full circle, we are thoughtfully partnering with organizations that provide meaningful employment opportunities for adults with disabilities. We believe Clean + Comfort has a unique opportunity to support individuals across the lifespan—from helping children build independence through Adaptive Hygiene™ to helping adults achieve greater participation, confidence, and success in the workforce.
Our Ask
Every child learns differently — and we believe support tools should reflect that. Many of our products are designed, adapted, or refined through real feedback from families, therapists, educators, and caregivers.
